Introduction
Chilika House, an integral part of Sainik School Sambalpur, is named after India’s largest lagoon located in Odisha. Just like this lagoon, which is part of the Bay of Bengal but still maintains a distinctive geographical feature, Chilika House cadets, despite being part of the school, radiate a distinctive aura and attributes of self-reliance, tolerance, integrity, moral uprightness, and esprit de corps.
Apart from their individual training, cadets of the house, following the spirit of camaraderie, showcase their creativity, skills, and teamwork for the wholesome development of all. No single cadet is left alone battling and struggling with obstacles and limits because the team spirit drives and motivates them to hustle together for a cause and relish their achievements together. That is what the motto of the house, “Teamwork makes dream work,” signifies.
The perspective for cadets of Chilika House is doing things with thoughtfulness, using discernment to gain optimum possibilities in adverse situations, having far-sightedness, and zeal to turn situations around for better results. The base qualities of Chilika House include working for gradual betterment and development. The colour orange signifies enthusiasm and transformation for a better future.
